Eclipse Set Sail Blackout Curtains Review
A couple weeks ago I told you about Eclipse Curtains and why I thought these would be great for Aaron’s room. Don’t remember or missed that post? No worries you can check it out here. Like I mentioned in that post Aaron is a light sleeper. So all the light from the street lights and noise from the cars that go down our busy street tend to wake him up several times a night. We were super excited when Aaron’s curtains arrived. We received the Eclipse Kids Set Sail curtains. These are Blackout curtains so they block 98 to 99.9% of the light, and they help reduce intrusive noises.
They arrived individually wrapped,
and neatly folded. They are sold as a single panel and measure 42″ wide, and your choice of 63″ or 84″ in length.
I absolutely loved the quality of the material and the stitching!
They also have two places for the curtain rods, this way you can choose how much curtain you want above the rod.
Okay so lets talk about how well they worked in the room. Below is a picture of how bright Aaron’s room is during the day.
And here is how it looks with the curtains installed. It’s truly amazing how well these curtains block out the light!
Final Thoughts
This being my first time trying out light blocking curtains I wasn’t sure what to expect. I didn’t know if they were going to be too dark or if they were going to work at all. But we absolutely love how well they’ve worked for us. As you can tell in the picture above there is some light that comes in through the top and the sides of the curtains. This is perfect for us because at night it allows for enough light to be able to walk around the room without bumping into things.
I would highly recommend these curtains for kids bedrooms! These curtains have done wonders for Aaron’s sleeping. He has been able to sleep through the night, which is something that he hasn’t been able to do for a while. Because he is getting a better, deeper sleep, he is also waking up feeling refreshed and well rested!
As a great bonus, I really like how easy these curtains are to care for. They are machine washable and you can tumble dry.
I can’t stop mentioning to you how well made they are. I like that Eclipse has curtains in wide range of colors and patterns, so they will look great in any room! Plus Eclipse offer four levels of light blocking: Absolute Zero, which blocks 100% of light and maximize privacy, noise reduction and energy savings. Black Out which blocks 98 to 99.9% of the light. Room Darkening which blocks 93 to 97.9% of the light. And Light Filtering which allows the sun’s natural light to come in and blocks UV rays up to 33%.

Those pictures really tell the story, amazing difference. I also like the idea of saving money on energy… that’s really a nice bonus…and with the cost of utilities, the curtains would pay for themselves pretty quickly.
these look really cool. would create a nice peaceful feel!
Blackout curtains are great fro day-sleepers, but also wonderful for keeping heat out, or in!
I absolutely agree! 🙂 Have a great weekend!
