Hop To It Jarlsberg® Breakfast Egg Muffins
By George Duran
Corn Muffins
Ingredients:
2 eggs
¾ cup milk
¼ cup plain flour
1 ¼ cup cornmeal
1 tbsp. sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Pinch of white pepper
4 tbsp. softened butter
100 g Jarlsberg® cheese
Nut Pesto:
5 tbsp. olive oil
1 pack fresh flat leaf parsley
1 garlic clove
½ cup walnuts
¼ cup cashew nuts
Salt and pepper
Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees. Whisk together the milk and the eggs.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and butter. Add the liquid and stir. Spoon the mixture into muffin cases. If possible, use stiff paper cups, so the muffins stand up better.
Cut the cheese into cubes and press them down into the mixture. Bake into the center of the oven for about 15 minutes. This cornbread can also be baked in a large round baking pan, about 20 cm in diameter.
Combine the ingredients for the nut pesto in a blender or using a hand blender. Pulse or blend until coarsely chopped. Serve the corn muffins with extra Jarlsberg® cheese, nut pesto and thin slices of cured ham, if desired.
Easter Bunny Jarlsberg® Puff Pastry Swirls
By George Duran
Ingredients:
4 ready-rolled puff pastry sheets
1 ¼ cup grated Jarlsberg® cheese
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
Pepper
On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the pastry sheets into rectangles about 20cm x 10 cm each. Mix the grated cheese, chopped rosemary and pepper. Spread the mixture over the puff pastry.
Roll up each pastry rectangle from the short end. Press the edges firmly together to seal the roll. Slice each roll into 3 cm thick slices. Place face down on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes at 375 degrees. If you want the pastry swirls to rise more, don’t roll out the pastry with the rolling pin.

I’m a big cheese lover, so I could eat it in almost anything. The corn muffins or the salmon would be great right now.
Whenever they ask what food you would take if you could only take one food to an island, my choice is always cheese and it’s always Jarlsberg. The breakfast egg muffins look and sound good. I like that it uses ingredients I almost always have on hand.
My choice is always cheese too. 🙂
All of these recipes sound delicious! I love cheese! I have never had Jarlsberg cheese before though, I will definitely have to try some. 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing!
