Here is a recipe that I make often. It’s a delicious sweet and savory recipe that my family absolutely loves. Whenever I make it for friends they love it too. I hope that your family enjoys this recipe as much as we do.

Delicious Fig Pork Chops Recipe

Ingredients

4 boneless center-cut pork loin chops

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 tbsp fig jam

1/4 cup reduced sodium chicken broth

3/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp salt

2 tsp olive oil

Directions

Sprinkle pork with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper. Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork and cook, turning once, until it has an internal temperature of 145° F, about 6 minutes. Transfer to a plate and cover in foil to keep warm.

Now it’s time to make the sauce. Reduce heat to medium, add onion to skillet (the same one you used to cook the pork chops) and cook. Stir constantly, until onion is golden. It usually takes me about 1 minute. Now add broth and jam to skillet. Cook, stirring to scrape up browned bits on bottom of skillet. Keep stirring until jam is melted, it usually takes me 1-2 minutes.

Spoon the sauce over the pork chops and serve. I love serving them with rice or veggies.

  2. Yum! This recipe sounds delicious, and I have never tried cooking with figs before so I am intrigued! I will definitely try this out, thanks for sharing! 🙂

  3. I’m intrigued by the use of fig jam in this recipe. I’ve never used figs in recipes before. I’d have to find another recipe I could use them in besides this one.
