This weekend was so magical, on Saturday we went to the Gift of Lights at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway! When we arrived we were greeted by a wonderful illuminated entrance. We could already see the wonderful lights just beyond the gate.
They advised us as to which radio stations we could listen to, so we could set the mood. And that we would find special treats like Smores at the bonfire, and a visit with Santa by the gift shop. Spanning over two miles, the Gift of Lights is one of the largest displays of holiday lights in New England. It includes several themed displays, such as the 12 Days of Christmas, a jungle scene and a Nativity depiction. The course winds around the outside of the track’s grandstands and includes a portion of the NHMS Road Course. Here are a few pictures for you to see the wondrous beauty that all the lights create.
When we arrived at the end we saw a bonfire, which is where they had everything you needed to make Smores! My boys had never had the chance before to make them, so this was an extra special treat!
After our snack we headed over to the gift shop to visit with Santa. There was a line as we expected, but to our pleasant surprise it moved quickly. Inside it was decorated with several Christmas trees, and decorations.
They were selling pictures with Santa at $5.00 a copy, which I thought was very reasonable. One of the things thati really liked and appreciated was that they never rushed our visit. Which is something that unfortunately happens a lot at the mall. The photographer was very patient with the families. And she took the time to take a few pictures in order to get the perfect one. They also give it to you in a souvenir card, and you can get a few copies of the picture at only $5.00 a copy. We hadn’t taken our yearly family picture with Santa yet, so we took advantage of the opportunity. Here’s our picture, I absolutely love it!
I would definitely recommend this as a great family outing. As a special treat, click here to save $ 2. 00 off the admission price. I sincerely hope you have a chance to visit!
Enjoy,
