Sodastream – Smart. Simple. Soda. Review
Have you seen these wonderful little machines? They are literally available everywhere. I am an BIG soda drinker, so I was super excited when I received the opportunity to review the Sodastream machine! My kids were even more excited than I was. When the package arrived and we opened the box this is what we found inside…
I received the Fountain Jet soda maker,a carbonating bottle, a set of 6 sample size soda flavors, a carbonator, and a 3 pack of My Water Essence Flavors!
We couldn’t wait to try it! We took the carbonating bottle gave it a quick wash with warm soapy water and filled it with water to the line. We then put it in the fridge to chill. While we waited for the water to cool, we took a water bottle and poured a few drops of the My essence water flavors. I tried Raspberry, the boys tried Orange, and Jose tried Lemon. We were surprised to find that the essence flavors gave the water a wonderful flavor. The water tasted refreshing and not to sweet, It gave it just the right amount of flavor.
Once the water had chilled we set up to make our own sodas!
We screwed the bottle to the front of the soda maker and now all we had to do was press the button to add the bubbles!
All it took was three pushes of the button to hear the BUZZ that let’s you know it’s ready! Now time for the flavor.
We chose Black Currant and Pear for the flavor and took the measuring cup that comes with the flavor bottle and filled it to the line. Then slowly poured it into the bottle, and gently shook to mix it all together. We grabbed a glass and filled it!
What an amazing flavor!! it’s definitely unique and one that’s a favorite in my house now!
Speaking of flavors, they offer over 60 flavors ranging from Kool-Aid, Crystal Light, Ocean Spray, Country Time, of course the regular flavors of soda (cola, root beer, orange, lemon lime, and diet sodas) they have sparkling tea flavors, and Energy Drinks!
What we loved about it is there’s no more need to be lugging bottles and cans of soda home from the grocery store. Using our own home carbonation system means:
Less packaging waste from cans and bottles. And less pollution caused by transport of bottled beverages.
One SodaStream carbonator makes 60 or 110 liters, equivalent to 170 or 310 aluminum cans! When empty, the carbonator is refilled and reused, ready to make more fizzy and tasty soda whenever you want it.
Bottom line is, if you love soda or seltzer and you want a way to make it at home…I’m sure you’re going to LOVE the Sodastream Soda Making Kit as much as I do!!
It’s so easy to use, and makes the perfect gift for any occasion! It’s just smart, simple, delicious soda or seltzer, whenever you want it!
