Tamalitoz Candy Review
One of the things I always look forward to when I travel back to Guatemala is definitely the candy. Especially the ones that have a mixture of sweet, salty, and spice. When I heard about Tamalitoz I couldn’t wait to give them a try. Tamalitoz by Sugarox is a fiery, fierce candy inspired by the sweet taste of Mexico. It’s a fruity ribbon-style hard candy filled with mild chili lime seasoning, the only candy on the market to put seasoning on the INSIDE.
We received the following 5 flavors: Lip Smacking Mango, Divine Watermelon, Cranberry Fantasy, Peach Slapped, and a pack of ChewLows in the Pineapple Galore flavor.
Every single one of the flavors was delicious! Tamalitoz definitely has the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and salty. They start off sweet and when you reach the center you get that spicy salty delicious flavor. All of us tried them and we could not pick a favorite. Unlike other candy that promises one flavor and all you get is a sugary sweetness. Tamalitoz did justice to each of the flavors, we loved that! Another thing to like is that all their flavors are naturally flavored and colored. Nothing artificial here. We can’t wait to try all 10 sweet and tangy flavors!
Available on Amazon, at Michael’s, and select Walmarts
About Tamalitoz by Sugarox
It all started at Sugarox Candy Studio, a tiny candy store in Mexico City making small batch hard candy – owned and operated by husband & husband team, Jack and Dec.
Jack, being Mexican, wanted to come up with a line of candy that was inspired by the sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors of Mexican candy. Dec, being British, wanted something that kept true to the traditional candy (or sweets as he calls them).
Tamalitoz are not like traditional Mexican candy, which are covered in Chili. We put the chili on the inside, so you get the sweet fruity flavor of the candy first. As you suck on them, hints of tangy and sour heat come through. When you reach the center you get that “OMG!” Tamalitoz moment.
