We love snacking on beef snacks and jerky, you can always find some in our home. So of course we’ve tried several brands and types of beef snacks. This time we tried deli-style beef sticks from Old Trapper. Here is what we thought.
Product Review: Deli-Style Beef Sticks from Old Trapper
I’ve liked beef snacks and jerky since I was small. When I was small I liked it because of its flavor. Now as an adult I like it because it’s a very convenient and high-protein snack. I love that it doesn’t have to be refrigerated, so I can carry some with me everywhere. That way I have a high-protein snack whenever hunger strikes.
Many of you know that I follow a ketogenic way of life, so I’m careful about more than the net carbs in a food. I’m concerned about the quality, balance between macros, and only eating food that causes me to feel energized and satisfied. Old Trapper deli-style beef sticks meet every requirement I have.
Recently we tried the original flavor deli-style beef sticks from Old Trapper, they are an Oregon-based company that has been in the beef jerky business for over forty years! I love how moist and fresh tasting these are. The stick has a nice snap when I bite into it. It tastes fresh, has a wonderful flavor, and satisfies my need for healthy protein.
If I have a couple of beef sticks for lunch with a big salad that I make with radishes, cukes, celery, mushrooms, and pumpkin seeds. They’re also wonderful alongside a breakfast of raw spinach, avocado, a hard-boiled egg, and coffee with heavy cream. I love that when I have them for a snack the size is just perfect. I’d be too full having a larger meat stick. Unlike some other keto/paleo meat & jerky products, this is easy to chew, and not too salty.
