THE WONDERFUL FEELING OF BEING A MOMMY!
As I sit here trying to get my thoughts together (waiting for my coffee to brew) I have to say once more that it’s my boys that keep me going everyday. I am so blessed to have them and all their silliness. I love the moments that give me that wonderful feeling of being a mommy. Here’s one of those special moments.
Today we decided to take a trip to the mall to have lunch. On the way to the table Aaron (the middle angel) tripped and dropped his drink. I expected him to be a little sad, but was surprised to see that actually he was worried of what his daddy would say. I told him not to worry that it could happen to anyone. When we got to the table I told his daddy what had happened and that It had been an accident. I always think that he’s too hard on them, after all they are still little. I put the food down and told the boys to start eating while I went to get Aaron another drink. I could see that he felt bad so I kept reinforcing the fact that it could happen to anyone. When we finished eating Aaron wanted to go to the bathroom, on the way there we saw a young man (he looked in his twenties) who tripped and dropped his entire meal. Aaron stopped and looked at me and said “mommy, thank you…I love you”. I had to laugh on the inside to think that he would say that like I had anything to do with the poor guy tripping. I told Aaron I loved him too, but that I wanted to know what he was thanking me for. To which he answered…” You always no how to make me feel better, and you are right about everything you say” How cute is that (& totally right of course)? It totally made my day! I definitely felt that I was doing something right in my job as a mommy. As a busy mom of more that one child I often find myself wondering if I’m doing the right things and teaching them well how to be kind, and productive little guys. It’s so reassuring when it’s them who tell me in their own little ways that I am.
On the way back home, Diego and Aaron wanted to play a game. So since our silly little gang loves to sing along with the radio, I told them we would take turns and sing along one by one. It was so much fun, even daddy played along! I have got to get that on video next time LOL. 🙂
Also, I wanted to say how much I identified with your post. Too often I snap at my daughter when she accidentally spills something, and I hate that I’m not more patient. Adults spill all the time (myself included!). This week’s Manic Monday’s blog hop is live at http://mommyatozblog.com/Get-Linky/. Hope to see you there! – Meredith

Those moments are the best. As mothers we need more of those moments. Lovely story.
Thank you Bonnie, I totally agree as moms we do need more moments like these. 🙂
Very cute story! 🙂
