The Messages: A Memoir by Dawn Kohler
Raising children is hard but it gets even harder if you have issues of self-worth. At least that was the case for me. As I mentioned above I had heard great things about The Messages: A Memoir, so I couldn’t wait to read it. However, I must say that it is so much more than I expected.
This book is very well written, and I loved how well I connected with it. Now don’t get me wrong you don’t have to relate to the author’s specific experiences. Even if you don’t it’s very easy to let this book resonate with you. It is an inspirational book perfect for mothers everywhere. I truly enjoyed this book, and have recommended it to many friends.
The Messages: A Memoir is available on Amazon and from your favorite bookseller.
About the Book
Dawn Kohler had, by anyone’s standards, a rough start to life – arriving to this world late, she was named by her father when he uncharacteristically claimed to hear the name in a vision. Basically raising herself in the 1960s, with a fierce knowing she had something important to do in this life, Dawn defied the odds to later become a successful businesswoman, wife, and mother.
But life had a few more curveballs for Dawn, and while preparing for her daughter’s wedding she was interrupted by an arrival from her past – a letter from someone she once loved. When her daughter questions what the package contains, they sit down – with a bottle of wine – to relive an extraordinary story of when she received The Messages.
The Messages is a beautifully written, heart-wrenching memoir of a woman trying to find her truth as she grapples with anxiety, depression, and a relentless pull toward the unknown while trying to meet the needs of a young family. In this gripping story, readers move along with her through the fear that life might not be fulfilling at all, but just a breakdown of ourselves little by little.
Throughout the journey of The Messages, Dawn immerses us in plain-spoken but beautifully detailed scenes of love, loss, hope, letdown, and deep inspiration. This vulnerable and courageous memoir shows us how to: reconcile with our past and actively live life without being controlled by fear and suffering.
In The Messages, readers will find divine communication, prophecy, and the disarray of everyday life with loved ones spilling from the pages. It is a light for those lost in the darkness, a sigh of relief for those who have found their way out, and a memoir was lovingly written by a woman who is strong today for everything she has been through – right from her first breath.
