Geology Lab for Kids Book Review
We love going out to explore in the yard and at the park. It’s a great way to keep the boys entertained, while learning. I gotta admit boys are messy, but it’s loads of fun to get messy with them.
It’s during the summer that we really get to explore, so I wanted to get new books of things to do. That’s when I found out about Geology Lab for Kids. This is a super neat book with lots of fun things to do.
Geology Lab for Kids offers 52 simple, inexpensive, and fun experiments that explore the earth’s surface, structure, and processes. In this book we get to learn about the wonders of geology. Aaron right now is all about crystals which is why I know he will love this book. It has a part about the formation of crystals and fossils. We also can learn about the layers of the earth’s crust, and the eruption of geysers and volcanoes.
So far there are two chapters that are favorites. They are…
Super Sediments and
Prospecting For Riches.
With this book there’s really no excuse for boredom with a year’s worth of captivating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) activities.
In this book, you will learn:
- How to identify the most common rocks and minerals
- How to maintain and display your rock collection
- How insects are trapped and preserved in amber
- How geysers and volcanoes form and erupt
- How layers of rock reveal a record of time
- How to pan for gold like a real prospector
Geology is an exciting science that helps us understand the world we live in, and Geology Lab for Kids actively engages readers in simple, creative activities that reveal the larger world at work.
