Become the Fire ~ Book Feature

We all experience chaos and fire in our lives. Although it shows up in unique and personal ways (racism, ageism, sexism, abuse, illness, disease, disability, divorce, disconnection, inequality, injustice, and more), everyone deals with chaos, according to Elisa A. Schmitz, an award-winning Latina entrepreneur, author, and founder of 30Seconds.com, an inspiring digital media platform that makes the world a happier, healthier, and more delicious place — 30 seconds at a time.

In her new book, Become the Fire: Transform Life’s Chaos into Business and Personal Success, Schmitz shares her journey of how she sold her first business, iParenting, to Disney, started her current venture, and how other “outsiders” can achieve life-changing success.

“Women and BIPOC are often more deeply affected by chaos and fire,” says Schmitz. “That’s because we have been told — either directly or indirectly by employers or bosses, by investors or our own friends and families, by the media or even whispers on the street — that success is for those with the ‘right’ gender or skin color or religion or sexual orientation or socioeconomic status or abilities or connections. Since that is not us, it’s easy to believe success is not for us. But this is just not true.”

This is a very well-written and inspiring book. I enjoyed reading it and learned a lot.

About the Book

Turn Obstacles Into Fuel For Fulfillment And Success

What does it mean to become the fire? It means not allowing yourself to be in the fire of life’s challenges, getting burned, but instead using the fire to ignite your motivation and drive, passion, and grit. It means not focusing on what you don’t have or can’t do, but instead leveraging what you do have and can do. It means using your differences to your advantage and seeing life’s chaos as fuel to propel your success. Using her own story of entrepreneurial success as well as interviews with ten diverse and successful women, Elisa Schmitz presents ten actionable lessons for putting your personal power to work, with unstoppable results.

Become the Fire is a road map for dreamers who want to be doers, and for doers who need help turning their spark into a flame.
