For a while now I’ve been on the market for a desk lamp. My desk is in the family room and so I am usually working or reading while my hubby is watching TV. The problem is that he likes to watch TV with the lights off. While I am working I like to read notes I’ve jotted down so I don’t forget anything. This is why I wanted a lamp that would be bright enough to make working (and reading) easy, but not so bright that it would bother my hubby.
I was recently contacted by the folks at BenQ to see if I would like to try out their ScreenBar e-Reading Lamp. I took a look on the website and liked what I saw. This is a really slim lamp that goes on top of the computer monitor. I agreed to test it out and see how I liked it. It arrived very well packed in a slim box. I must admit that it was heavier than I expected it to be. It wasn’t overly heavy though.
Inside the box I found the lamp, the clip that it uses to attach to the computer monitor, and the USB power cable. I immediately put it together and placed it on my monitor. The first thing I liked about this lamp was how easy it is to put together. This lamp simply snaps into the clip and the clip goes on the monitor. The bar has a power port on the back where you plug it in. I really liked how slim it looks and how it fits perfectly on my monitor.
Then I turned it on, and I liked it even more! This lamp has the perfect level of brightness. It has a built-in ambient light sensor which allows the brightness level to adjust automatically. However I am not limited to the automatic brightness because it can be manually dimmed with the touch sensor control.
The BenQ Screenbar stands up well to its claim as a no-hassle space saving desk lamp. The monitor mount works really well to cut out glare on my screen whenever the screen is on. The lamp produces a good deal of light, and I really love how well it lights up my desk space. Bottom line: this lamp has fit into my life perfectly! It doesn’t matter if I am working on my blog, invoices for the company we own, playing games or even reading a book at my desk it has been perfect! Honestly I don’t think I would have been able to find a better option for me when it came to desk lighting.
