T.I.G.E.R.S. Myrtle Beach Safari Review

On this year’s family vacation to Myrtle Beach we were invited to T.I.G.E.R.S. Myrtle Beach Safari. We have been to various safaris here in the US but we had no idea that this one would make such an impact. This was a safari unlike any other we have experienced. Here I share with you our experience.

We met two of our guides at a little parking lot where they then showed us the way to a bigger lot beyond the safari gates. From the parking lot we were taken to the main building. It was here where our adventure started.

The main building was decorated in such a way that there was no doubt we were among amazing animals. They had portraits of the many animals we would encounter. And several TVs.

On these TVs we learned more about the center and their mission for helping endangered species like tigers and orangutans. We also learned that many of the center’s animals are quite famous. They have appeared in movies like Dr. Dolittle and in a series of Schweppes commercials.

While we were learning about the center and the animals who live there we had our backs to a massive window. Once they were done speaking they told us to turn around and take a look outside. I had my breath taken away by the incredible sight of a liger.

T.I.G.E.R.S. Myrtle Beach Safari is the home of Hercules the Liger, a crossbreed of a lion father and tiger mama. He weighs in at more than 900 pounds and 11 feet tall when standing on his hind legs.

This is such a majestic and incredible animal. It was mesmerizing and breathtaking to watch him and be able to be so close to such an amazing animal.

After spending some time with Hercules we walked a short distance. We were then introduced to Ramses.

Ramses is their resident cheetah. He was adopted from one of the center’s conservation partners from South Africa.Seeing a cheetah at the zoo and meeting Ramses had absolutely no comparison. It was definitely out of this world.

Next we walked again to an area where we meet several lynxes. These animals were super soft. We were able to take close up pictures with them,

and also see the older ones in action.

Next up we had a one-of-a-kind opportunity to pet and hold tiger cubs. This was definitely an encounter we would never forget.

I was personally surprised at how soft and cuddly they are. I also learned that their soft pads on the bottom of their paws actually remain soft throughout their life. This is helpful for when the time comes to hunt.

After the cuddly tiger cubs we met the amazing wolf pups who love to play, chase each other and roll around.

Next up they took us to a tall deck to enjoy some snacks. This was definitely a snack time unlike any other as we were able to watch the of the big cats in action.

These amazing cats were so fast yet graceful.

We then had a chance to interact with Bubbles. I learned that she is the most interactive African elephant in North America. She was rescued in the early 1980s, when her wild herd was killed for their ivory.

After Bubbles we were able to meet and interact with a lemur,

and gibbons.

Then it was time for lunch. They served several options of food, beverages, and snacks. While we were eating we enjoyed a fun time with a couple of fun chimpanzees. Who showed us their artistic side. And painted some t-shirts for us.

Then we got to see tigers swimming. Yup you read that right. I thought these cats were water fearing. Yet there they were swimming as graceful as they are on land.

Once all the swimming was done we headed back to the main building. This was where we received our photos and videos. Since there are no still cameras, video cameras, or cell phones allowed, we weren’t able to take our own pictures. This really is good though because then you don’t have to worry about taking photos or distractions. You can enjoy and fully immerse yourself in this amazing experience.

This experience was absolutely unforgettable. Being able to connect with the wildlife transformed the way we thought and viewed these amazing animals. It also shows us the importance of supporting conservation programs worldwide.

This was a once in a lifetime experience and one that we will remember for years to come. The T.I.G.E.R.S. Myrtle Beach Safari experience should definitely be on your bucket list. Trust me when I say that if you visit you will not be disappointed.
