Balance Beans from ThinkFun

newest 2016 disclaimer

Hi there! Today I want to tell you about a great game that we were lucky enough to try out. It’s a game called Balance Beans and it’s from ThinkFun. If you follow my blog or my YouTube channel then you know that we have reviewed other ThinkFun games. Honestly there has not been a ThinkFun game we haven’t liked! Okay so let’s talk about this game.

Balance Beans is a logic game. It’s a single player game fit for ages 5 & up. Let’s take a look at what it brings!

balance beans game

As you can see in the picture above, this game brings the following. The balance seesaw, 40 challenge cards (ranging from easy to super hard), 1 single orange beans, 2 single red beans, 1 double red bean, 2 double yellow beans, 1 triple red bean, 2 triple blue beans and (not pictured) a mesh bag to store everything.

The object of the game is to balance the seesaw by placing the beans from the challenge card on to the seesaw. For example the challenge card will tell you that you need to place the double red beans and use the single orange bean to balance. You have to figure out where to put the orange bean so it will balance. The answer is on the back of the cards.

We found this game to be lots of fun and perfect for when the boys need their own quiet time. Honestly my hunny and I love to play it too.

You can get this great game from ThinkFun on Amazon.

Product Description

Balance beans is a logic game and math game all in one. Set up the red beans according to the challenge card. Then carefully place the colorful beans on the seesaw to keep it from teetering. When you balance the seesaw, you are actually balancing an equation! as the challenges get harder, you’ll rely less on trial and error – and more on math and reasoning skills. This bean-filled logic game is a fun way to introduce young learners to elementary algebra.
