I’ve bought numerous sets of measuring spoons in my life, all of them plastic. They get separated and fall down into the dishwasher coils where they melt. They get too close to a hot burner where they melt. The size rubs off sometimes and I have to play spoon detective to figure out which one I need. I’ve had one crack before. And yet, it never really occurred to me to buy stainless steel measuring spoons until I happened to see these. These X-Chef measuring spoons are great! They are stainless steel, so they will last a long time. They are dishwasher safe, will not get stained and their flat edges make leveling easier for dry ingredients They come on a round ring similar to a keyring, so you can keep them all together or take them apart if you choose. After using them, I’ll never go back to plastic spoons again. I use these spoons a LOT! I love cooking and baking, plus, I am a perfectionist and if a recipe calls for an exact amount of an ingredient I HAVE to have it correctly measured because if I don’t it will drive me crazy.
The set has six (6) spoons and each is stamped with its measurement: 1 tablespoon, 1/2 tablespoon, 1 teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon. 1/4 teaspoon and 1/8 teaspoon. The metric measurement is also stamped for those who use that system as well. The ring that holds the spoons is one of my favorites. It is easy to open, but it is also secure when closed, so you don’t have to worry about it opening by itself (like those pesky plastic rings do).
Overall, I really, really like these measuring spoons. I love the heavy feel, the flat edges, the easy-to-read stamped measurements that will not fade away and I also like that they don’t bend like others.
