When the opportunity came to test the Tuna Squish I was very curious. Ever since my first misadventure in cooking (I cut my finger on the lid of a tuna can while draining it) I’ve hated draining tuna cans and I was very eager to see if the Tuna Squish was a great solution to this problem. I had never heard about this product prior to doing this review.

First thing is how adorable this kitchen tool is! I love that it’s in the shape of a fish. It’s the perfect shape for many reasons. For starters it’s use is on a tuna can, and the shape is perfect to hold. You grasp it from the tail, so you can see that it’s a good shape from the picture. I also like that the part that touches the lid has a magnet that holds the lid so that after you’ve drained the tuna you can just hold the Tuna Squish above the garbage can and press the little black fin and the magnet releases the lid. I love that I don’t have to touch the lid.

 First thing I did was open the can with the can opener, then I placed the can in the Tuna Squish. I began to squish the handles together slowly while I held the can over the sink ( it totally surprised me how easy it was to squish, my 7 yr old helps me do it now)  I removed the can, and the lid stuck to the magnet part of the Tuna Squish. It  worked perfectly, the tuna in the can was dry and ready to be prepped any way I wanted. Here’s a video that shows how to properly use the Tuna Squish.

I really like this product. I love that it saves me from having to dig the lid out of the tuna can. It makes dealing with the  sharp lid easy and I didn’t get tuna juice all over my hands. I also really liked that it got  all of the liquid out of the tuna. I didn’t have any issues using the tuna squish.
