This past weekend we went to the LEGO® KidsFest New England in Hartford CT! You could already feel the excitement when we arrived at the CT Convention Center. There were signs everywhere! After checking in we were taken into the LEGO® area and taken to the Master Builders Chris and John. We would learn from them a few tricks and tips of building and stability.

After sharing a few tips with us we were sent to build our own space ships. Here are what the boys built.

Then we were taken to Creation Nation where we got to create a building to add to a huge map of the US.

From there we went to do some monster truck racing. First the boys got a few instructions. Then they were off!

There was so much to do, we did a special challenge with Sponge Bob Square Pants. Which was only one of the many fun challenges that were available to do. And don’t  think that because it was LEGO®, that it was only for kids. No way they involved parents in everything, which is what made it fun for the whole family.

We then went to the big pile of bricks.

It was HUGE and so much fun!

We absolutely loved the statues that were built entirely out of LEGO® and were places all over the arena. Here are a few pictures of some of them.

And the one that really took my breath away was the one with The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

It was amazing!

There was so much to see and do that you didn’t feel the time go by. If you weren’t able to make it this year to LEGO® KidsFest fear not, they will be back in 2014. Hop on over to my post on LEGO® Kids Fest 2014 Tour Announcement to see the dates and cities. Don’t wait, tickets are available already and sessions do sell out! Get your tickets at the LEGO® KidsFest website.
