When it comes to the holiday season I always make sure that my boys know that giving is a lot better than getting. There is a satisfying feeling that you get when you help those who need it that is amazing. That to me is the true meaning of Christmas!
Very Christmas is a book that also has this very powerful message! I love books like this because they really bring out the holiday feeling! I can definitely see this story becoming a tradition of reading it for the holidays every year.
What I really liked about this book is that it is a refreshing departure from the typical holiday picture book. Featuring a unique design without pagination or chapter numbers, children are encouraged to remember pages based on a memorable font, word, or page color. The characters throughout the book are purposefully not illustrated so readers have the freedom to dream them up and see themselves reflected in the story. There’s no evil character and, in fact, the story is all-inclusive: the lessons throughout apply to every gender, class, race, and age.
A Very Christmas is a beautiful, festive, and meaningful holiday book the whole family can enjoy for years to come.
