During the holidays it’s easy to get swept up in the hustle and bustle of the season. However it’s important to remember that it’s family time that will be remembered through the years. To relieve some of that holiday stress, last weekend we went on a magical ride on The Train To Christmas Town! For those of you who are not familiar with the story, I’ll tell you a little about it.  The story itself surrounds a little girl named Janice and her brother. Normally, the children ride yearly to Christmas Town with their Grandma, but she cannot make it this year. The children miss their grandmother very much and on board they share seats with friends and woodland animals, meet elves serving cocoa and cookies and stop to welcome aboard a very special passenger, Santa Claus. It was wonderful holiday themed ride from start to finish. When we arrived we went to pick up the tickets at the station. It is a little station that contained the gift shop and the ticket booth. It was really cute in it’s old fashion decor. Then we went to get in line to board. We could see the inside of the train all decorated and we couldn’t wait to start our trip.

When it was time to board the conductor came out and gave the traditional shout “All Aboard!” We were shown to our seats by one of the many friendly elves. Once everyone was seated the magic began.

For the children he would punch the letter of their first name on the ticket. The boys really loved this! Once our tickets were punched the train started on it’s way and through the speakers we heard the story of The Train To Christmas Town.  While the story was being told, one of Santa’s elves walked by showing everyone the pictures in the book.

They stopped, took pictures, and gave each child attention. It was very magical.

While the animals visited with all the children, the elves served everyone hot cocoa and ginger cookies. What the boys liked, was that the hot cocoa was just the right temperature.

Then we arrived to Christmas Town!

Everyone was eagerly awaiting his arrival on the trainwpid-20131123_183104.jpg  I wish you could have heard all the cheering, when he made it to our coach car. wpid-20131123_183438.jpg All in all it was a very magical and wonderful experience, that we hope to repeat year after year!
