Three Amazing Books By Julia Dweck

As a mom of 3 little guys I have read many bedtime stories. I treasure my reading time with my boys, and we have many favorites. When author Julia Dweck contacted me to read her latest books, I was honored and excited! Her book Big Boy is a treasured favorite by my boys and myself.

Mary had a sleepy sheep

The first book we read was Mary had a Sleepy Sheep. This book was funny, imaginative, and a wonderful twist on the popular nursery rhyme. This story quickly became a favorite for my 2 yr old who loves sheep! The story rhymes which makes it such an easy, and entertaining read. I also shared this story with my 6 yr old’s first grade class, at story time and they loved it! They had a wonderful time listening to the story, laughing at all the ideas that Mary had to wake poor Sheppard the sheep. One of their favorite parts was looking for a little mouse that’s hidden through out the pages of the story. The illustrations are great and my 2 yr old knew exactly what was happening even before I read the page. My 8 yr old really enjoyed the page at the end of the book that challenged him to compare the differences between two pictures. Available now at Amazon

Blucy

The second book we were excited to read was Blucy. My 6 yr old was particularly excited about this book because he is such a cat person. He absolutely adores everything cats! Blucy is the story of an adorable little girl named Mandy, who adopts a kitten from the local animal shelter. To her surprise the kitten who she names Blucy changes colors depending on her mood. This is a very heartfelt story that teaches the wonderful lesson about how a new owner and new pet need to learn about each other in the beginning of their relationship. My 8 yr old says Mandy is his hero for rescuing the kitten from the animal shelter, and wants to do the same when we are ready for a pet. At the end of the book there’s a page with great cat facts that we all loved. The illustrations are vivid and and caught the attention of all the boys, especially my fidgety 2 yr old sat nice and still during the story. It’s a truly amazing story, and one that your family is sure to enjoy! Available now at Amazon

Humpfree

The story of Humpfree the hump less camel is the wonderful story of Humpfree the camel who is sad because he looks different than the other camels. He tries different ways to have his humps. This wonderful story teaches the valuable lesson that we should love ourselves and others regardless of physical appearance. The pictures are amazing and you really get drawn into the story. The boys loved the story and it quickly became their favorite, I must admit it has become a favorite of mine as well. A few of my 8 yr old’s friends who were over the house heard the story as well and they really enjoyed it. I don’t really want to say much about it because it’s available as a pre-sale on Amazon and will go live on October 5th!!! It’s another amazing story by Julia that just like all her other stories won’t disappoint.

Hurry and add all three to your family’s library, you won’t regret it!
